Unity Candles
Rent a Candle has special unity candles for couples for the most special day in their life. These are BRIDE and GROOM, the two separate candles symbolize the separate lives of a couple, their families and sets of friends; in other words, their lives before the D-Day. Lighting the centre candle will represent that the couple’s two lives joined together as one. The flames of these candles will be a representation of their passion and love for each other.
At first, two taper candles are lit and used by each member of the marrying couple. These tapers are then used to light a larger pillar candle in the centre. The tapers are then blown out to indicate that the two lives have been permanently merged. They can also beremained lit beside the central candlesymbolizing that the now-married partners have not lost their individuality.
You can design your own candles or with your ideas. We have ribbons available in a variety of colours. You can get them with the candle and have them personalised by getting a special message printed on them. You can also create a unique design for your Memorial or Wedding Candle. There is no extra cost for the number of lines of text or list of names on your candle. We have a large selection of poems, verses and design images to select from or use your own.
